Not trying to be dramatic, but food is kind of the center of everything. The availability of food – especially the delicious, healthy kind – will make or break a neighborhood, and the availability of fresh produce is the most essential to neighborhood work/play/livability. This is the exact reason why I was incredibly excited to come across Greenway Market while meandering the streets of Hartford for sustenance mid-workday. This place has juice and salad bars, a deli, local produce, Goldbergs Bagels, imported Italian cheeses, Hartford Baking Co. breads, cured Spanish meats, a house shaved Brussels sprout salad (!!), and a genuinely enthusiastic staff to serve the Hartford community.

You can now find this service industry expat somewhere in Connecticut leaving a 20+ percent tip, enjoying every single second of the weekend, or using a decade's worth of food experience to provide social media, marketing, and public relations to restaurants across the state.
